True Gospel with SAVIOUS-PARKER KWINIKA
CHURCHES nowadays are like football clubs! You unfairly get ill-treated by one, you join another.
Nevertheless – players must always be careful to join only teams that are in the premier league to avoid straying offside again!
Joining soccer clubs that play professional football helps understand team organisation, understand best football brand, why such football teams are best, who is coaching those teams and which club is the most valuable club under the sun.
Now, I have come to this conclusion after observing many unfolding sad developments in churches with keen spiritual eyes.
This is mainly true with Pentecostals churches that are no longer serving the interests of the Most High Jehovah God but those of their founders, bishops, pastors and spouses.
Thus, if the church does not preach repentance, salvation, forgiveness, peace, love, mercy, uprightness and respect, then it is offside.
Dear reader, immediately eject yourself from such a gathering.
Personally, I’m inspired by one South African footballer, Thamsanqa Gabuza, who turns out for Supersport United.
He is formerly an Orlando Pirates striker.
When Pirates fans heckled, jeered and booed Gabuza for missing what they thought were easy scoring chances, he walked out of the Johannesburg-based football team.
So are you, when in a church that does not grow yourself spiritually, please dear, get out of that kirk.
Look at Gabuza, he never wasted much time at Orlando Pirates when he sensed ridicule. Instead, he joined SuperSport United, a rival but ambitious premiership side based in the capital, Pretoria.
Today, Gabuza is very happy at SuperSport United and banging goals like never before. He recently put a Man-of the-Match performance as they won the MTN8.
Yet, his critics mostly at Orlando Pirates are still shouting, condemning, criticising and scrutinising yet his former side is stagnant, with no achievement in years.
That is exactly such churches without Jehovah God do. They are only good at gossiping, circulating rumours, chilly in love, unforgiving, wicked, crooked, corrupt and immoral.
Dear reader, if you find yourself in a church where people are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful and unholy, please, pack your bags and leave. That is not a church of Jehovah God.
Now turning to my football example, SuperSport’s Zimbabwean coach Kaitano Tembo, deserves credit for rescuing Gabuza from his ordeals at Orlando Pirates, where he realised the player was unfairly treated and deserved a second chance.
Guess, what? The condemned Gabuza at Orlando Pirates has actually repaid his new coach’s faith and fatherly love by displaying match-winning performances.
The striker has bought into the coach’s philosophy and mission of winning trophies at SuperSport United, yet his old team Orlando Pirates continues to experience lean spell of trophies.
Jesus did not come to earth for the holy ones but for sinners so that they too repent to become good in order to have a better world.
Mark 2:17 of the New Living Translation confirms this True Gospel when Jesus said: “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
Going back to the Gabuza issue, at Pirates fans did not appreciate his hard work but celebrated other players that were good at dribbling without producing intended results.
Dribbling did not win Pirates any trophies, with their cup drought now nearing five years.
As I write this True Gospel, Pirates’ trophy-less run looks set to run further despite being the crowd pulling club.
Imagine if Gabuza had listened to the hard-to-please Orlando Pirates supporters and allowed their opinions to shape his destiny, he would have been relegated to the bench, the stands or worse into total extinction.
So, if you are one such a believer once hurt by the church you so much trusted in, whether leaders’ misdeeds, I therefore urge yourself to leave while you have time.
Forget how big such churches are nor miracles being performed there, all I urge you reader is to wisely choose a church with Jehovah God, not the one with too many followers
Matthew 7:13-14 concurs with this True Gospel: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
After all, Jesus teaches us Jehovah God is not in churches, but next to those worshipers who honour Him in the Spirit and in truth.
Matthew 6:6 of the New Living Translation reads: “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”
The New International Version, aptly puts it, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Here Jesus does not mention going into people’s churches nor gatherings, but urges us to go into privacy and pray to Jehovah God.
John 4:24 supports this True Gospel. In it, Jesus says: “God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
This is why during his time on earth Jesus never respected wealth people who gave much in church because he knew majority of them were pretenders and always full of themselves.
Luke 21:1-3 of the New Living Translation states, “While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins.
Listen to Jesus now, “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them.
Truly, Jehovah God wants believers who strive to achieve both excellent and perfection out of sin instead of those that give more money in churches for show off and personal glory.
The New Living Translation of 2 Chronicles 7:14 reads: “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”
Here, again we see Jehovah God does not mention earthly churches.
Jehovah God is interested in those that humble themselves, repent, confess sins so that they may be forgiven.
1 John 1:9 of the New International Version states: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
We are not all perfect hence one of the wisest man to ever lived on earth, a prophet and king of Israel King Solomon wrote in the book of Proverbs 24:16 saying, “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.”
The English Standard Version captures it well saying: “for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.”
Those who believe in this True Gospel say amen.
