JOHANNESBURG – BESEIGED smartphone maker, Huawei, has sold 100 million units as of May 31, a senior official disclosed.

Sales were powered by the P30 series, which sold 10 million 85 days after its launch. It was unveiled on March 26.

According to Kevin Ho, President of Handset Product Line at Huawei Consumer Business Group, the time the company took to reach 10 million unit sales was 62 days less than that for P20 series.

“It is a record-breaking three months for Huawei flagship devices,” Ho said at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai Global Device Summit.

Spotting a SuperSensing Leica Quad Camera, 10x Hybrid Zoom, ultra-long battery life and new color choices like Breathing Crystal and Amber Sunrise some media have dubbed the P30 Series as the “Best Flagship of 2019” and “Best Phone for Photography.”

The company meanwhile disclosed invested more than CNY480 billion (US$30,6 billion) over the past decade, helping establish its powerful technological strength and partnerships in both the software and hardware supply chains.

Huawei, which has been slapped with controversial restrictions in the United States, believes continuous innovation and technological leadership would continue to expand the boundaries of smartphones, creating all-scenario smart life experience for consumers.

“This the cornerstone of confidence from a large Huawei user community,” the company stated.
